KARACHI: Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.8 billion in remittances in March 2026, reflecting a significant monthly increase, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The central bank reported a 17% rise in remittances compared to February 2026, when inflows stood at $3.288 billion. However, on a year-on-year basis, remittances declined by 5% from $4.054 billion recorded in March 2025.
During the first nine months of the current fiscal year, total remittances reached $30.32 billion, marking an 8% increase compared to $28.03 billion received during the same period last year.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, with inflows rising 34% month-on-month to $918 million in March. Remittances from the United Arab Emirates increased by 18% to $824 million, while inflows from the United Kingdom rose 10% to $587 million.
Transfers from the United States also saw a 12% increase, reaching $359 million.
