Shehbaz elected unopposed president of PML-N

Says Nawaz Sharif would return from abroad to lead the country to progress and prosperity.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been elected unopposed as President of Pakistan Muslim League-N for next four years. This was announced in the General Council meeting of the party held in Islamabad today.

According to the results announced in the meeting, Maryam Nawaz was elected Chief Organizer /Senior Vice President, Ahsan Iqbal as Secretary General, Marriyum Aurangzeb Secretary Information and Ishaq Dar Finance Secretary of the party for next four years.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz said PML-N believes in serving the masses. She said development and PML-N have become synonymous in the country.

Marriyum Aurangzeb tabled a resolution paying rich tributes to the bravery and patriotism of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif. It said Nawaz Sharif always gave priority to country’s national interests.

 

Nawaz Sharif’s return

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif would return from abroad to lead the country to progress and prosperity after becoming prime minister for the fourth time.

Speaking after his re-election as President of Pakistan Muslim League(N) for a four year term at the party’s Central General Council meeting, he said Nawaz Sharif was the builder of modern Pakistan and during his tenure as prime minister he eliminated energy shortages, laid down the network of roads, built infrastructure and developed agriculture, industry and other vital sectors of the economy.
He said he would hand over the presidentship of the party to Nawaz Sharif after his return to Pakistan.
