Attacks on security forces in the provinces of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan have increased in the recent months, but it is yet to become clear who are behind the killings of customs officials.

It’s suspected that gangs of smugglers active along the Pakistan-Afghan border may be responsible behind the incidents. The government needs to to take prompt steps to ensure security for the customs officials and bust the gang.
