21 PTI workers granted bail in May 9 cases

The accused were involved in arson attacks on corps commander house in Lahore.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday granted bail to 21 activists of the PTI in a case registered against them in connection with the May 9 arson attacks.

The police produced the accused in before the judge of the anti-terrorism court, Muhammad Naveed. The judge after hearing arguments from the defence lawyers and theĀ  prosection granted them bail.

The accused included Muhammad Aslam, Rizwan Ullah, Kamran Khan abd Muhammad Owais. The case against the accused was registered at the Sarwar Road police station.

It may be recalled that soon after the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9 by NAB in connection with a corruption case in Islamabad, workers of his PTI party went on a rampage and set military installations ablaze.

The PTI workers in Lahore took out a protest and entered the corps commander house also called Jinnah House and set it ablaze snd ransacked it.

Over 100 people involved in the arson attacks on military installations including the GHQ in Rawalpindi were arrested in different cities.
