ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday condemned Israel for ignoring the recent UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
He was speaking to Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Jawad A.A Rabei, who paid a courtesy call on him in Islamabad today.
The prime minister expressed condolences over the killing of over 32,000 Palestinians, including 17,000 children by Israeli forces since the Gaza war started in October lady year.
Mr Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing support to the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli excesses and brutalities.
He said has Pakistan has so far sent seven tranches of relief goods for the people of Gaza. Another tranche is planned soon after Eid.
The prime minister called upon the international community to play its role in stopping more bloodshed by the Israeli forces in Gaza.
The Palestinian ambassador thanked Pakistan for supporting the Palestinian people, saying this is a source of strength for them at this difficult time.
