Qazi Faez Isa says as a chief justice of Balochistan High Court he did lots of work.

ISLAMABAD: A full court reference was held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan in honor of outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa on Friday.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is retiring today. In the full court reference, nominated Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and other justices of the apex court were present. However, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb, Justice Athar Minallah did not attend.

Addressing the full court reference, Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that once as a judge of the Supreme Court the then Chief Justice of Pakistan called me and informed that there was shortage of justices in Balochistan High Court and you should go there as the chief justice.

He said that as the chief justice of the high court he did lots of work. In this, he added, his wife had a big role but she asked not to be in the limelight.

He said that as the chief justice of Pakistan he never interfered in the cause list of the court. There might have been some wrong decisions. One document can be in favour of a party and against another; what is right is best known to Allah.

It may be mentioned here that the outgoing chief justice of Pakistan issued some historical judgements including the one in the 2014 Faizabad sit-in case of a religious group.

Speaking on the occasion, incoming Chief Justice Yahya Afridi paid tribute to Justice Qazi Faez Isa and said he learnt a lot from the outgoing CJP.
