SWAT: A tragic road accident on the Swat Expressway claimed the lives of at least 11 passengers and left 7 others injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred near the Ismailia area when a passenger van crashed into a bus that was parked on the roadside. Officials said the collision was caused by the van driver’s negligence, as the vehicle hit the stationary bus from behind.
The bus was reportedly traveling from Karachi to Buner, while the van was en route from Rawalpindi to Dir.
Emergency responders, including motorway police, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. The injured and deceased were transported to Mardan Medical Complex for treatment and further procedures.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause and whether safety violations were involved.
