Govt met to another promise with Industrial consumers: electricity prices reduced by 4.92 Rs per unit

NEPRA has decided to reduce the electricity tariff for industrial consumers by Rs 4.96 per unit. The reduction will be effective from November 1. NEPRA has sent the decision to the federal government for notification.

NEPRA also approved the government package while reducing the electricity tariff for industrial consumers. The concessional package will be for eight months. NEPRA has sent its decision to the federal government. The decision is for small and medium enterprises. By June 30, 2021, the tariff will be Rs 8 per unit, and the government will provide a subsidy of Rs 14 billion.

The tariff for major industries will be Rs 12.96 paise per unit. NEPRA decision states that fuel price adjustment will be applicable on the tariff while quarterly adjustment will not be applicable.

In this regard, NEPRA has sent the decision to the federal government for notification. The federal government had announced a discounted tariff for industrial consumers.
