Green signal given for PayPal service in Pakistan

IT minister says it was longstanding demand of free lancers to receive payments through PayPal.

ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government has good news for millions of people working online for different foreign countries sitting at home.

They were facing problems in getting payments for their work as the main international paying agency, PayPal, did not operate in Pakistan.

Now caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Communication Dr. Umar Saif he as announced that the caretaker government had given green signal to PayPal to include Pakistan in its payment lists of countries.

In a video statement, the caretaker minister said PayPal will provide facility to freelancers for receiving remittances in their accounts through digital communication.

He said the government haf also approved National Space Policy allowing private sector companies to use low orbit satellites for communication services in Pakistan.

The government is also going to launch  Pakistan Startup Fund with allocation of two billion rupees to encourage youth for a thriving entrepreneur ecosystem.
