Pakistan Envoy Congratulates Americans on Independence Day

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh extended heartfelt congratulations to the American people on the occasion of the 250th Independence Day of the United States, on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan.

In his message, the ambassador said the United States’ history reflects a steadfast commitment to freedom, democracy, innovation and determination. He noted that Pakistan and the United States share common values rooted in liberty and democratic principles.

Sheikh said Pakistan was also founded on the ideals of freedom and democracy, adding that Pakistan-U.S. relations have successfully withstood numerous challenges over the past eight decades.

He described the bilateral partnership as beneficial not only for the two countries but also for the wider international community.

The ambassador expressed optimism about the future of bilateral ties, saying recent high-level engagements and convergence of views between the leadership of both countries are encouraging signs for a stronger and more enduring partnership.

He stressed the need to expand cooperation in key sectors including minerals, energy, information technology and agriculture, with greater emphasis on investment, trade and economic collaboration.

Sheikh also praised the Pakistani-American community for its valuable contributions to the development of the United States and for serving as a bridge between the two nations.

As part of the celebrations, he presented a special musical tribute prepared by Siraj Narsi and his team, featuring the U.S. national anthem performed using traditional Pakistani musical instruments.

He said the performance symbolizes the strong historical ties and the promising future of Pakistan-U.S. relations.
