Meeting vows to expose attackers on train, their facilitators

ISLAMABAD: Key decisions were taken at a meeting of the civil and military leadership chaired by the prime minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Friday to expose those behind the attack on a passenger train and other terror activities in Balochistan and else where.

The participants decided that attackers on Jaffer Express will be exposed to the world. Anti-national campaign on traditional and digital media should be given a befitting reply. The meeting decided to adopt a clear and unequivocal stance against terrorism. Representatives from the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan were also present.

According to sources, it was decided that no stone will be left unturned to expose the attackers on Jaffar Express. Anti-national campaign on traditional and digital media will be given a befitting reply. It was also agreed to strengthen the national narrative against terrorism.

Fake news and propaganda against state institutions on social media, false information created by deepfakes and other technologies will be responded to filly. Awareness on terrorism will be included in the national curriculum. Films and dramas will be made to convey the national narrative to the youth. National themes will be adopted that will effectively counter the narrative of the miscreants.

Any kind of content against the national narrative and the country’s security will be dealt with properly. It was agreed to increase the cooperation and coordination among all the provinces for national security and harmony.
