RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft crashed near Mardan during a routine training mission, resulting in the martyrdom of two pilots, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The deceased officers have been identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy.
ISPR confirmed that a board of inquiry has been constituted by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the crash
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, service chiefs, and all ranks of the armed forces expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over the tragic incident, paying tribute to the fallen officers and praying for their elevated ranks. He stated that the armed forces of Pakistan continue to set examples of professionalism and sacrifice in defense of the country.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also conveyed his condolences, honoring the martyrs for their sacrifice and expressing solidarity with their families.
