GWADAR: Terrorists have carried out an attack on the Gwadar port authority complex with multiple blasts and gunfire, officials said security forces have killed eight of the attackers.
According to police, the terrorists first detonated explosive devices and then opened fire in the building. Security forces reached the spot and in an exchange of fire killed eight of the attackers and foiled their design to take over the complex. Reinforcements have been called to the area and the firing was going on.
The building houses a number of government offices including that of the Election Commission of Pakistan and passport and immigration. It was not confirmed how many terrorists were involved in the attack.
A senior government official said that Majeed Brigade of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the terror attack.
