Spokesman for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that unnecessary and unsubstantiated comments on the foreign funding case should be avoided. The ECP is already hearing the case before the parties and the media and other concerned persons and institutions are present during the hearing.
The Election Commission will soon decide on merit after hearing the arguments of both the parties and the institution assures that it will decide on merit without any fear or pressure.
He said that the powers or position of the scrutiny committee belongs to a JIT so the action of the committee cannot be taken at the public level while the action at the public level would make it difficult for the committee to do its job.
Opposition parties have demanded an early decision from the Election Commission in the foreign funding case against the PTI and in this regard, the opposition has recently staged a protest outside the head office of the Election Commission.
