Afghan Hezb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami chief Muhammad Karim Khalili visits Pakistan

 

Hezb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami chief Muhammad Karim Khalili visited Pakistan, met separately with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. In the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was no military solution to the Afghan conflict, only a negotiated settlement is the only way forward. After the Afghan people, Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s message is that all parties should work together for a peaceful solution, a stable Afghanistan. It will open up new avenues for cooperation in trade and regional ties.

Former Chairman Afghan High Peace Council Muhammad Karim Khalili in a meeting with the Army Chief praised General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s vision on Pak-Afghan relations. On this occasion, the Army Chief said that peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan. Peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan.

In a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Mohammad Karim Khalili said that Afan has been grateful to the leadership and people of Pakistan for hosting the refugees for decades. Afghans value Pakistan’s role in peace talks. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that solution of Afghan issue is possible only through comprehensive dialogue between the parties. Pakistan will continue its efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Talking to media after the meetings, Karim Khalili said that the Afghan people want an end to the conflict and lasting peace. Pakistan provided full support despite all difficulties. Pakistan’s political leadership and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa are grateful.
