QUETTA: An air hostess of a private airline was beaten and left with her nose bleeding and a tooth broken by a daughter of former Quetta Commissioner Iftikhar Jogzai.
According to media reports, the incident took place on March 18 on a Serene Air flight from Quetta to Islamabad in which former Quetta commissioner Iftikhar Jogzai was traveling with his daughter Saima. The man and his daughter also misbehaved with the staff while checking in at Quetta airport.
Before take off, the air staff was giving instructions to the passengers, including asking them to fasten their seatbelts during which the air hostess also asked Saima Jogzai to fasten her seatbelt and close the dining table.
However, Jogzai and his daughter reportedly used foul language against the air hostess and started shouting.
The air hostess informed the captain about the matter and after the father-daughter continued the ruckus, the captain contacted the control tower and brought the plane back from the runway. The airport security force was immediately called to the plane in view of the situation.
After the continuous ruckus, the captain of the plane asked the staff to offload the father and daughter for the safety of the passengers, on which Saima Jogzai refused to get off the plane.
According to the airline management, on this occasion, Sima angrily punched an air hostess in the face after which she started bleeding from the nose. She also lost a tooth after which the ASF detained both the man and his daughter.
The airline management said that after the incident, the Balochistan administration pressured them to resolve the matter. The commissioner Quetta immediately reached the airport, and asked the staff to resolve the matter. Later, the commissioner Quetta wrote a written apology on behalf of the father and his daughter.
After the apology, both the father and daughter were allowed to leave without any legal action while the injured air hostess was sent to hospital.
Airline sources said that the woman who created a ruckus on the plane was allegedly drunk. At the same time, this incident is also a big question on the dignity and safety of the aircrew.
