ISLAMABAD: As many as 78 Pakistani companies have shown interest in cooperating and working with Chinese companies for the shifting of their industries to Pakistan.
This was stated by officials of the Board of Investment at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Board of Investment presented recommendations for expediting the process for the shifting of the Chinese industrial units to Pakistan.
The prime minister fully backed the recommendations of the Board of Investment for the shifting of the Chinese industries to Pakistan, says a statement from the PM Office.
The meeting was held to review progress on agreements with Chinese firms during his recent visit to China.
The participants of the meeting also discussed a road map for the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan. Under the road map, partnerships will be signed with Chinese companies for shifting China’s textile, plastic, leather medical and surgical equipment industries to Pakistan.
PM Sharif said no delay will be tolerated in the implementation of the memorandums of understanding signed on cooperation with China.
He said China had helped Pakistan in every difficult time and the Chinese leadership was determined to further increase investment in Pakistan.
He directed the relevant authorities to extend full facilitation to Pakistani companies for collaboration with Chinese companies.
