Contact made between security advisors of Pakistan and India: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, a significant development has taken place as both countries’ National Security Advisors (NSAs) have made contact.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed this communication during an interview with Turkish media.

Dar stated, “What India has done is unforgivable. It is an act of war against Pakistan, and Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately in self-defense.” He emphasized that high-level contact between the security institutions of both countries is important given the current regional tensions.

It should be noted that during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Indian forces launched cowardly attacks targeting civilian populations in Azad Kashmir’s Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bagh, as well as in Punjab’s Muridke and Ahmedpur Sharqia. The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 31 Pakistani citizens, including two children, and the destruction of two mosques. Over 51 people were injured.

In immediate retaliation, Pakistan responded forcefully by shooting down three Indian Rafale jets, one MiG-29, one SU-30 fighter aircraft, and one combat drone.

Following these developments, Foreign Minister Dar also contacted the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, to brief him on India’s recent aggression. Pakistan is urging the international community to take serious notice of the situation.

This contact between NSAs has occurred at a time when the situation in the region remains extremely sensitive, and any further escalation could lead to severe consequences.
