Court rejects plea, summons Asif Zardari on August 10

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Accountability Court (IAC) has rejected the plea of ​​Asif Ali Zardari to dismiss the Park Lane reference in the fake accounts case and ordered to charge the former president on August 10.

Accountability Court Judge Azam Khan delivered the Park Lane Company reference safe verdict. The court reserved its decision after hearing two petitions filed by Asif Ali Zardari against the acquittal, removal of reference and jurisdiction.

Rejecting the former president’s pleas in the court decision, the Park Lane Company reference was declared in accordance with NAB law. The accountability court ordered to charge Asif Ali Zardari on August 10 and start trial for the former president.

Earlier, Asif Zardari’s lawyer withdrew his plea to remove the acquittal and reference, NAB’s plea to dismiss Asif Zardari’s plea and charge him. The application cannot be withdrawn, the accused is deliberately using delaying tactics. After delaying the offense for a month, the petitioner is withdrawing the reply today.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari’s lawyer Farooq H Naik said that the Park Lane reference is not a NAB law but a case of financial laws. Accountability court judge Azam Khan remarked that the court would issue an order on Asif Zardari’s acquittal.

The Park Lane reference is one of the fake accounts cases in which Asif Ali Zardari had 25 shareholders. Which was not returned later and caused a loss of Rs. 3 billion to the national exchequer.

The NAB is of the view that Asif Ali Zardari, as the President, was influential in the debt forgiveness case. He got a loan from the National Bank for his fake company. In this case, various witnesses, including former presidents of the National Bank, have recorded their statements.
