Dr. Zafar and Tania Aidrus resign from their posts

ISLAMABAD: Two special assistants to Prime Minister on Health and Digital Pakistan Dr. Zafar Mirza and Tania Aidrus have resigned on Wednesday from their posts due to criticisms over their dual nationalities.

SAPM on Health Dr. Zafar tweeted that je came to Pakistan on special invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan leaving World Health Organization (WHO). To serve Pakistan as a SAPM on health he called the post “priviliged” for himself in the tweet.

He said in the same tweet that “I am satisfied that I leave at a time when Covid19 has declined in Pakistan as a result of grand national effort”.

Tania Aidrus SAPM on Digital Pakistan tweeted that ” criticism levied toward the state as a consequence of my citizenship status is clouding the purpose of Digital Pakistan”. In the greater national interest, she resigned from the post, she tweeted.

Tania vowed in the tweet that she will serve the country and to the Prime Minister’s vision.

PM Imran has accepted their resignations and Cabinet Division has issued a notification.
