The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held at the Passport and Immigration Headquarters in Islamabad, chaired by Interior Minister .

Officials confirmed that the move toward complete digitization of passport services aims to enhance security, reduce fraud, and streamline processing. Under the new system, citizens will also be able to receive passports at their doorstep once the home delivery service is launched.

It was further decided that a cashless payment system will be introduced in all passport offices starting July 1. In addition, online passport applications will be shifted to the Pak ID platform to centralize and simplify the application process.
