TEL AVIV: Iran launched missile attacks on the Israeli towns of Dimona and Arad, leaving at least 180 people injured, with eight in critical condition.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Health, 116 were wounded in Arad and 64 in Dimona. Earlier, Israeli media reported six fatalities.
The strikes targeted Dimona, home to Israel’s nuclear reactor, located approximately 13 kilometers from the town. Iranian forces claimed the attacks were in retaliation for earlier strikes on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facilities.
Defense analysts expressed surprise at the Dimona attack, noting that the facility is Israel’s most sensitive nuclear installation and heavily protected by advanced air defense systems. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stated that the balance of power is shifting, and Israel’s control over air defenses is weakening.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu described the situation as “an extremely difficult evening” for Israel, while 65% of Americans believe President Trump may authorize a major ground offensive in Iran.
