Khalistan Movement holds referendum in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES: Sikh activists working for a separate state of their own in India with the name of Khalistan held a referendum in Los Angeles in the California state of America.

According to media reports, more than 35,000 Sikhs activists took part in the voting aimed at making Indian Punjab a Khalistan state.

At the end of the voting, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, leader of Sikhs for Justice, announced in his address that the next Khalistan referendum would be held in Washington DC on August 17.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu also thanked the Trump administration for allowing the referendum to be held.

India has been trying to persuade the US government to declare the Khalistan movement of Sikh as a terrorist organization. However, the previous Joe Biden administration accused New Delhi of plotting to assassinate Sikh leaders in the US.
