Killer of Indian singer in police custody after extradition

NEW DELHI: An alleged killer of Indian singer Sidhu Moose Wala who was earlier extradited from Azerbaijan was remanded in the custody of New Delhi police for 10 days.

Sachin Bishnoi alias Sachin Thapan was extradited by a special cell of Delhi Police.

“Sachin Bishnoi extradited to India from Baku, Azerbaijan,” said Special CP HGS Dhaliwal.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is an accused in the murder case of the Punjabi language singer. 

Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster, is  accused of planning the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. 

After murdering the singer on in May 2022, Bishoni had confessed in a Facebook post confessed to murdering the singer and fled to Azerbaijan.

The Indian authorities then approached the government of Azerbaijan in Baku for his extradition.

Sensing the danger, the accused moved a court in Baku against his handing over to India.

However, the court rejected his appeal after which he. was extradited to India to stand trial for the murder.
