Modi’s rhetorics cannot divert attention from atrocities in Kashmir: FO

Statement says Pakistan is ready to counter India’s aggressive actions.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reacted strongly to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allegations against Pakistan and said his jingoism cannot divert attention of the international community from atrocities on occupation forces in occupied Kashmir.

A Foreign Office spokesperson in a statement said instead of maligning others for terrorism, India should reflect on its own campaign of orchestrating targeted assassinations, subversion and terrorism in foreign territories.

It may be noted that addressing a gathering on the 25th anniversary of Kargil war at Drass, the Indian prime minister accused Pakistan of backing terrorists.

He said warned that it’s attempts at terror would not succeed, adding that it “has not learned anything from its history.”

“Pakistan has failed in all its nefarious attempts in the past. But Pakistan has not learned anything from its history. It is trying to keep itself relevant with the help of terrorism and proxy war,” he was quoted as saying by the Indian media.

The Foreign Office statement added: “Pakistan stands resolute in its intent and ability to safeguard its sovereignty against any aggression, as exemplified by its robust response to India’s reckless incursion in February 2019.”

It also said while Pakistan was ready to counter India’s aggressive actions, it remains committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.
