Mosques cannot be closed, must ensure implementation of SOPs: PM

 

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that mosques in the country cannot be closed under any circumstances but emphasis on implementation of anti-Corona SOPs is necessary.

Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad to discuss the situation of Corona epidemic. The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to remain in constant touch with the Ulema and NCOC regarding the epidemic.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office,  PM Imran said the Ministry of Religious Affairs should ensure the provision of corona spread indicators to the Ulema and Mashaikhs so that emphasised on implementation of Corona SOPs in religious sermons and sermons could be made through the pulpit.

PM Imran Khan also made it clear that mosques could not be closed under any circumstances, but stressed the need to implement Corona SOPs. However, Pir Noorul Haq Qadri also consulted the PM on the reorganization of the Ulema and Mashaikh Council.
