TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly planning to expand the ongoing military operation in Gaza with the intention of taking full control of the entire Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli media, Netanyahu is considering widening the scope of military activities, including in areas suspected of holding hostages. Channel 12 News reported that the plan could involve a complete takeover of Gaza.
Israeli media further stated that a final decision on this plan is expected to be made during the cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
On July 29, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Netanyahu had presented a U.S.-approved plan to the cabinet, under which certain parts of Gaza would be reoccupied.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that since October 7, 2023, Israeli aggression has killed 60,839 Palestinians and injured 149,588 others.
According to Turkish media, every passing moment in Gaza claims the life of another Palestinian child. Statistics show that 18,592 children have been killed over the past 22 months, accounting for 31% of total deaths.
