Pak win first T20 against Zimbabwe by 6 wickets

RAWALPINDI: In the first T20 of the three-match series played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by six wickets thanks to the brilliant batting of Babar Azam.

Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez shared 80 runs in a responsible manner. Babar Azam played a brilliant innings of 82 runs off 55 balls which included a six and 9 fours while Mohammad Hafeez was dismissed for 36 runs. Zimbabwe Mazarbani took 2 wickets. Pakistan achieved the target of 157 runs with 7 balls to spare. Fakhr 19 while Haider Ali could score only 7 runs.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat, while Brendon Taylor and skipper Chamo Chhababa started the innings. For Zimbabwe, Wesley Madhuveer scored a responsible half-century and remained unbeaten on 70, while Elton Chakambura scored 21. Zimbabwe scored 156 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf and Wahab Riaz took two wickets each of them, while Muhammad Hasnain and Usman Qadir, the son of the late legendary leg spinner Abdul Qadir, took one wicket each.
