Pakistan, China to expand cooperation to more sectors
Minister says industrial zones should be set up in Pakistan for manufacturing electric cars in collaboration with China.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have decided to further boost their collaboration in projects related to energy, infrastructure and food security within the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The decision was made at a meeting between Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong here, says a press release.
The minister said that the main objective of CPEC was to promote cooperation between the two countries in different sectors such as energy, infrastructure, social development, agriculture and regional connectivity.
He told the meeting that Pakistan wanted to enhance cooperation with China and expand it to other fields. He said industrial zones should be set up in Pakistan for manufacturing electric cars in collaboration with China.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Jiang commended the government’s efforts in continuing cooperation across all sectors.
