Pakistanis in U.S. Make History in Ice Hockey

WASHINGTON: Pakistani players based in the United States have created history by clinching the Latam Cup Division III Ice Hockey Championship.

The team, comprising Pakistani-origin players, delivered a stellar performance throughout the tournament and remained unbeaten on their way to the title.

In the final match, Pakistan outclassed Peru with a convincing scoreline of 6–1, securing the championship in style.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani-origin women’s team also showcased remarkable talent, winning a bronze medal in the Division II category of the tournament.

The championship was highly competitive, featuring over 62 teams from 17 countries, making Pakistan’s triumph even more significant.

This victory marks a proud moment for the Pakistani diaspora and highlights the potential of Pakistani athletes on international platforms—even in sports not traditionally associated with the country, such as ice hockey.
