LONDON: The Pakistani diplomatic delegation, led by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has arrived in the United Kingdom after completing a significant diplomatic mission in the United States.
During their stay in the U.S., the delegation engaged with representatives of various countries at the United Nations, members of the U.S. Congress, and other officials to present Pakistan’s stance on key regional and international issues.
Speaking to Geo News in London, delegation member Faisal Subzwari said, “We began our visit at the United Nations, where we presented Pakistan’s case. Despite having military strength, we came with a message of peace.”
He added that Pakistan wants global powers to make it clear to India that two nuclear-armed nations cannot afford to escalate tensions in a volatile environment. Referring to the Pulwama incident, he stated that Pakistan demanded evidence, but India resorted to aggression without proof.
Subzwari emphasized that Pakistan’s peace-driven message received considerable appreciation in meetings with the U.S. State Department and members of Congress. “We came with a message of peace for the region. This is a diplomatic success for Pakistan and a setback for India,” he said.
Senator Sherry Rehman, also part of the delegation, stated that Pakistan seeks peace and is ready for dialogue on Kashmir. She criticized the Indian delegation’s visit to the U.S., saying its sole purpose was to hurl accusations at Pakistan.
Former Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan noted that many in the U.S. believed President Trump’s earlier ceasefire initiative had resolved tensions. “Our mission was to explain that India is unwilling to engage in impartial investigations or dialogue, which is why international intervention remains necessary,” he said.
Bushra Anjum Butt, another member of the delegation, said the Pakistani team received a warm reception in both New York and Washington. “We effectively presented Pakistan’s position on the Indus Waters Treaty and Kashmir,” she added.
The delegation’s visit to the UK is expected to continue these diplomatic efforts by engaging with British officials and diaspora communities.
