UN Allocates $600,000 for Flood Relief In Pakistan

Team of UN officials is scheduled to conduct a damage assessment survey tomorrow.

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations has allocated six hundred thousand dollars to aid victims of the deadly flash floods caused by heavy rains across various regions in Pakistan.

Pakistan has been experiencing unusually heavy monsoon rains this season, leading to severe flash floods that have affected thousands of people. The floods have caused widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural lands, leaving many communities displaced and in urgent need of assistance.

These floods have exacerbated existing challenges in the region, including limited access to clean water, healthcare, and shelter. Local authorities, with the support of national and international organizations, are working tirelessly to provide relief and coordinate rescue efforts to mitigate the impact on affected populations.

UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric informed reporters at a regular briefing that Pakistani authorities, with support from the UN and local partners, are taking appropriate measures to address the situation.

Meanwhile, a team of UN officials is scheduled to conduct a damage assessment survey tomorrow.
