7.0 magnitude earthquake jolted western Turkey, building collapse, no casualities: media reports

ISTANBUL: A 7.0 magnitude earthquake jolted the coast of western Turkey on Friday, according to US Geological Survey. Initial reports are indicating that 20 buildings have been collapsed in Izmir, and at least five spots people have been trapped under 5he debris, TRT reported.

According to TRT, the earthquake was registered 14 kilometres off the Greek town, in the Aegean Sea and shaken Turkey and Greece.

However, the disaster agency of Turkey AFAD reported 6.6 magnitude for the earthquake, which struck at a depth of 16.5 kilometres.
