ISLAMABAD: Another boat carrying illegal migrants including Pakistanis has capsized near the Libyan coast with recovery of 10 dead bodies so far.
According to a foreign news agency, at least 10 dead bodies have been recovered from the water and handed over to Red Crescent.
The Foreign Office in a statement on Monday said that Pakistan’s embassy in Tripoli had informed authorities that a vessel carrying about 65 passengers capsized near the port of Marsa Dela northwest of Zawiya city of Libya.
The Pakistan embassy in Tripoli has immediately dispatched a team to Zawiya hospital to assist the local authorities in identification of the deceased. The embassy is also trying to ascertain further details of the Pakistani victims.
The Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been activated to monitor the situation, the statement added.
