ECC meeting approves supplementary grant of Rs. 433 million for NAB

Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh hold a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee where a committee was formed to eliminate the revolving credit of the Petroleum Division while supplementary grants for NAB, Ministry of Health, Religious Affairs and Counter Narcotics were approved.

The ECC has approved a supplementary grant of Rs. 433 million at the request of NAB. The NAB will pay the installment to the foreign asset firm Broadsheet from aprroved Grant.

Howedr, NAB had entered into an agreement with Broadsheet Company in 200 years to trace the secret assets of Pakistanis during the rule of Pervez Musharraf. Zardari’s name was also included, while the contract with Broadsheet was terminated in 2003.

The committee set up to eliminate the revolving debt of the Petroleum Division will include representatives of Finance, Petroleum, Energy, Planning Division, SECP, OGRA and other stakeholders.

The committee will submit a report based on the recommendations to the ECC within 30 days. The ECC was informed that there would be no shortage of wheat in the country till January 2021.

Similarly, the supply of wheat to Pasco and Gilgit-Baltistan has been increased while the Trading Corporation of Pakistan has opened the sixth tender for import of 110,000 tonnes of wheat.

The ECC also approved Rs. 1 billion for the 2018 Hajj expenses, Rs. 58 lakh for the Anti-Drug Force and a supplementary grant from the Ministry of Health.
