ISLAMABAD: In a positive development for salaried individuals in both the public and private sectors, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to grant tax refunds on a priority basis even to those filers who do not have taxable income.
According to official directions, the FBR has instructed relevant departments to expedite the processing of tax refunds, ensuring quicker payments to registered taxpayers. The move aims to encourage greater participation in the tax system and strengthen the tax net by rewarding compliance.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to build trust among taxpayers and motivate individuals to file their returns regularly, regardless of their income level.
