Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif meets with Prime Minister, Army Chief, Foreign Minister

In a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan and Iran have close fraternal relations and the two countries must work together for peace and development in the region.

 

Expressing grief, he said that smart lockdown and other measures in Pakistan have helped in dealing with Corona. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan would continue to support the success of the Afghan peace process, adding that peace in Afghanistan would benefit the entire region.

 

Jawad Zarif conveyed the message of the Iranian President to the Prime Minister to enhance bilateral cooperation. The Iranian Foreign Minister said that he wanted to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in various fields and Iran would continue to support Pakistan in resolving the Kashmir issue.

 

According to ISPR, Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif met with the Army Chief at GHQ Rawalpindi. On the occasion, the Army Chief said that Pak-Iran wide cooperation would have a positive impact on peace and stability in the region. The Iranian Foreign Minister said that Pakistan’s role in regional peace and stability and Afghan peace process was commendable. The Afghan reconciliation process, Pak-Iran border management were also discussed during the meeting.

 

Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Minister met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Ministry on a one-on-one basis and at the level of delegations. The Iranian Foreign Minister has just planted a tree in the courtyard of the Foreign Ministry.
