ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday lodged a strong protest with the interim government of Afghanistan over the latest terror attack in Bannu that claimed the lives of eight security forces personnel.
According to ISPR the terrorist Hafiz Gul Bahadar group hiding in Afghanistan was behind the terrorist attack in Bannu cantonment on July 15.
The Foreign Office on Wednesday said that the deputy head of mission in Islamabad was summoned to the FO and handed over a demarche containing strong protest by the government of Pakistan.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said that Hafiz Gul Bahadar group in colussion with the outlawed Tehreek Taliban Pakistan was involved in frequent terror attacks in Pakistan leaving a large number of security forces personnel and civilians dead.
The Foreign Office said that the interim government of Afghanistan has been asked to catch and punish the terrorists hiding and using Afghan soil in carrying out terrorism in Pakistan.
The regime in Kabul has been told umpteenth times to clear its soil of the terror elements, especially the thugs of the banned TTP, in order to ensure peace in the region.
Such terror outfits in Afghanistan was not only dangerous for peace but also against cordial relationship between the two countries.
