PTI could not register itself with EC despite claims of winning in upcoming elections

Like Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which claimed a landslide victory in the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has failed to register itself as a political party in the AJ&K Election Commission.

Privy sources said that Pakistan PTI Azad Kashmir chief Barrister Sultan Mehmood failed to provide the required documents for registration of the party in the Election Commission due to which PTI Azad Kashmir could not be registered properly.

A notification issued through the official website of the AJ&K Election Commission Secretariat lists a total of 24 political parties as registered parties, but the Pakistan PTI is not included in the list.

In the list released by the Election Commission, Pakistan Muslim League (N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Peoples Party (Shaheed Bhutto) Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan Azad Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Tahfiq-e-Human Rights Party Azad Jammu And Kashmir, Sada-e-Haq Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir are included.

Furthermore, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, All Jammu and Kashmir Nizam Mustafa Conference, All Kashmir Party, Allah Tawakal Party, Jaffaria Supreme Council Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Falah Insanity Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Jamiat Ulema Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party names are also included in the list.

Jammu and Kashmir National Liberation League, Jammu and Kashmir National Movement, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party, Jammu and Kashmir United Movement, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Azad Kashmir, Central Jamiat Ahle Hadith-ul-Alami Azad Kashmir, Mission Kashmir Task Force, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan Azad Jammu and Kashmir Kashmir are one of the registered political parties of the Election Commission.

On the other hand, PTI Azad Kashmir Central Secretary Information Irshad Mehmood has confirmed that the party has not been registered and said that the notification issued by the Election Commission is a normal procedure, the documents sought by the Election Commission will be completed and submit in three to four days. Irshad Mahmood has expressed hope that PTI will be registered as a political party in Azad Kashmir within the next one week.
