Second phase of Afghans’ deportation to start soon

Punjab govt told to share data about Afghan citizen card holders with ministry of interior.

ISLAMABAD: The second phase to deport illegal Afghans living in the country is going to start from April 15.

The ministry of interior has directed the home department of Punjab to share with it data about all Afghan citizen card holders living in the province. 

After receiving the data, the government would direct the police concerned to launch action against the Afghans to deport them. The Afghans will be gathered in the specific centers for deportation.

According to media reports, after deporting of the Afghan citizen card holders ends, the third phase of action would start to send back all those living in Pakistan under the proof of residence cards.

It may be mentioned here that the deportation of the illegal Afghans started in November last year. Since then, over 0.4 million Afghan nationals living in Pakistan illegally have been sent back to their country.
