“Second wave of corona virus has started gradually” SAPM on health

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan has said that the second wave of corona virus has gradually started in the country and further tightening of sanctions seems inevitable.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the second wave of corona virus has started gradually as we look at our statistics every day, it is becoming clear that at one stage a few days before today, the cases The number of cases was close to 400 or 500. At present, the number of such cases has increased to 700 and 750 every day.

“There has also been an increase in deaths from corona. The positive test rate has been below 2 per cent for several weeks and has now gradually increased to close to 2.5 per cent,” he said.

“It is also clear that we as a nation are not doing what we need to do to prevent the spread of this epidemic,” he said.

Dr. Faisal Sultan said, “Now we are in a situation where it seems necessary for us to tighten some restrictions or tighten some restrictions.”

“We will start our approach at the local level, focusing more on the cities and districts where the disease rate is higher,” he said.

“We have to try to find out if we have restrictions or what we are thinking about so that the spread of the disease is highest and the focus of the disease is high,” he said.

“Everything is under consideration and we will initially request the local administration that SOPs are being violated and those who are not complying with it should be given extra hardship including fines or the like,” he said. Things can also be included.

“It is important to wear a mask in crowded and cramped places, whether it is in shops, public transport, buses, weddings or other events where a large number of people gather in a cramped space,” he said.

Dr Faisal Sultan said: “At the local level, these restrictions will be largely based on statistics and may reduce the working hours of our work and other events.”

“Consultations and discussions are underway in this regard at the moment. It will be a gradual process and we will take it in stages, for which consultations are also underway within the provinces, local administrations and the NCOC,” he said.

“In the next few days, we will see clear and concrete guidelines in this regard. In addition, we are working on another mechanism under which our citizens, where SO Monday is not being implemented, A hotline or procedure will be provided for this so that any action can be taken at the administrative level.

Expressing concern over the rise in Corona virus cases, he said: “Strictness and restrictions are difficult, so no government wants to do that, but we think it’s time to take it very seriously.” We will consider this and will give more details after consulting all the provinces in this regard.

Dr. Faisal Sultan said, “I hope that if we adopt these things and continue to exercise this precaution as we have been doing for the last several months, we will end the second wave and this We will emerge victorious from the challenge.

It may be recalled that a total of 329,710 people have been infected with the virus in Pakistan so far, out of which 311,440 have recovered and 6,750 have died.

In Pakistan, 830 more people were confirmed to have corona virus on October 27, while 10 patients died and 365 patients recovered, bringing the total number of active cases to 11,520.

It may be recalled that the first two cases of Corona virus in Pakistan were reported on February 26, 2020, after which the situation deteriorated. However, the situation started improving in July and now the number of cases has increased once again due to the dangers of the second wave.

The most alarming situation during this period was in June, when the number of daily reported cases reached 6,000 and the death toll rose to more than 100.

Later, in July, the situation improved and the number of cases gradually began to decrease, and then further improved in August.

Conditions caused by the corona virus further improved last month, reopening educational institutions that had been closed for more than six months.

The most affected provinces in the country are Sindh and Punjab. The total number of infected people in Sindh province is 144,449 while in Punjab this number has reached 1382.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 39,119 people have been infected with the corona virus, while in Balochistan, the number of people infected with the epidemic is 15,839.

In addition, 19,181 people in the federal capital Islamabad, 4,191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 3,849 in Azad Kashmir have been affected by the global epidemic.
