WANA (SOUTH WAZIRISTAN): An explosion near a police mobile unit in Wana, South Waziristan, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left 14 others injured, including several police personnel.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imranullah, the blast occurred in the Rustam Bazaar area of central Wana and was caused by a remote-controlled device placed near the police vehicle.
Authorities confirmed that two civilians lost their lives, while the injured among them police officers have been shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Wana. The hospital has declared a state of emergency to deal with the situation.
The police vehicle was also damaged in the blast. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident.
