Zardari decides to make his daughter as first lady of Pakistan

It's for the first time that a daughter of president will be having the status of the first lady.

ISLAMABAD: Newly-elected President Asif Ali Zardari has decided to declare her daughter Asifa Bhutto Zardari as the First Lady of Pakistan.

According to PPP sources, the president will soon give her daughter Asifa the status of the First Lady.  Asifa was born on February 3, 1993, and is the youngest daughter of Zardari and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Asifa has always remained very close to her father and during the recent elections she was in the forefront of her brother Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s election campaign. 

She will enjoy state protocol as the First Lady. It will be for the first time that a president’ daughter will become the First Lady. Zardari took oath as the 14th president of Pakistan on March 10 a day after he was elected to the coveted post for the second time. Earlier, he remained the president from 2008 to 2013.
