Apology rejected, IHC restrains DC Islamabad from going abroad

Irfan Nawaz Memon appears before court in contempt case, told to file reply to show-cause notice.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday rejected the apology of deputy commissioner Islamabad in a contempt of court case and retrained him from going abroad.

Justice Babar Sattar on Tuesday had issued warrants for the arrest of the DC Irfan Nawaz Memon for violating court orders and issuing 69 orders for arrest of different political workers under the MPO and then repeatedly skipping court appearance in the contempt of court case.

Today, when the court resumed hearing, the DC appeared before the court and tendered an apology and said he could never thought of disrespecting the court. The court however rejected his apology and said that a show cause notice had been issued to him and he should submit the reply by tomorrow by because the court has to wind up the matter..
