CDA Accelerates Development in Islamabad’s Key Sectors

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its efforts to fast-track development in key sectors of Islamabad, particularly in E-12, where residents have been waiting for possession of their plots for over 30 years.

At a high-level meeting on Friday, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed officials to speed up construction work in sectors such as C-14, I-12, and E-12, with a target to complete significant development within the next two months.

The focus on E-12 comes after years of delayed development. This sector, launched in 1989, has seen only partial progress, leaving many allottees without access to their properties.

During the meeting, Randhawa instructed the engineering team to move quickly on E-12/4, where some plots have already been allocated.

The Deputy Commissioner was tasked with resolving local disputes to secure land possession and continue the work. CDA officials confirmed that allotment letters for completed plots would be issued later this month.

Randhawa set a two-month deadline to complete critical infrastructure works in C-14, I-12, and E-12, hoping to address the long-standing frustration among residents awaiting plot possession.

In I-12, 70% of road and drainage work has been finished. The issues with contractors in C-15 have been resolved, making way for the next phase of development. The renewed commitment from CDA aims to fulfill public expectations and provide much-needed relief to those waiting for their plots.

The CDA has also introduced the Qiwa platform to digitally monitor and manage the rapid progress of development projects.

This digital system is designed to streamline procedures and minimize administrative delays. The renewed push for development aligns with broader goals to address housing shortages and modernize the infrastructure of Islamabad.
