ISLAMABAD: A group of business persons from Denmark is currently visiting Pakistan to explore areas of potential investment in different sectors.
The delegation on Monday held a meeting with federal ministers Musadiq Malik, Aurangzeb Khan, Jam Kamal and Abdul Aleem and discussed matters related to investment opportunities in different sectors.
The delegation led by Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Jakob Linulf at the meeting expressed its its interest in investing in Pakistan’s mining sector after they were briefed about huge mineral reserves still unexplored in the country.
The ministers told the delegation that given the vast reserves of minerals, huge investments can be made in the sector. The ministers told the delegation that the government had taken a number of steps to facilitate foreign investors and would welcome Danish investors in the mineral sector.
They said that Danish investment in the country would be an encouraging initiative for others investors form Europe and other countries.
The two countries already have joined hands to work in different sectors and the Danish cooperation in the mining sector will not only boost bilateral ties but will also strengthen the country’s economy. Denmark is Pakistan’s important business partner, they added.
Mikko Keto, the chief executive officer of FL Smidth, said they will move forward with actionable suggestions and profitable projects in the mining industry.
