Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has been appointed as Special Assistant for Information ti Chief Minister Punjab. The portfolio of Provincial Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hasan Chauhan has been changed and he has been given the portfolio of Colonies.
A formal notification has also been issued in this regard. The Punjab government has withdrawn the post of Information Minister from Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan for the second time.
Minister for Mutual Aid Mehr Mohammad Aslam and Minister for Prisons Zawar Hussain Warraich have also been removed from the cabinet. It may be recalled that in April this year, the post of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting was withdrawn from Firdous Ashiq Awan and handed over to Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Earlier, Firdous Ashiq Awan was charged with abuse of power and nepotism, but no formal investigation has taken place since then.
