Over 100 killed as cyclone batters five US states

GEORGIA: Over 100 people are reported dead and scores of others injured besides damages to properties worth billions of dollars in five states of America that have been hit by a cyclone.

Media reports stated that cyclone Helen has devastated many areas of Florida, Georgia, Virginia and North and South Carolina and other states of the US.

The reports indicated that the death toll from the devastation may rise as torrential rain and stormy wind have battered many cities where the damages were still being assessed.

Authorities estimated that the damages to the properties may cost the public and private sectors more than 15 billion dollars. Authority is bar working and rescue operation was underway to help the affected people.
