APHC, Hurriyat leaders condemn inhuman treatment with Kashmiri detainees in jails

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat leaders have condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to the Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails of India and the territory.

According to KMS, APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the inmates are treated as slaves and the jails have been turned into torture centers.

He deplored that detainees are denied basic amenities including proper food and medical treatment. He urged the UN Council for Human Rights and other human rights watchdogs to pay a visit to the jails in India to observe pathetic conditions of the detainees.

Meanwhile, political analysts have said that deliberate targeting of innocent civilians in IIOJK manifests that Indian forces are highly unprofessional and unethical. Former Lt Gen of Indian army HS Panag says politicization of the army is a worrying trend and top brass of the army is getting too closely identified with religion and the ruling BJP.
