Ritchie earlier this month in her video message had accused senior PPP leaders

ISLAMABAD: On Monday against US blogger Cynthia Ritchie who has accused PPP leaders of harassement a court in Islamabad has directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to register a case her.

During the hearing today a petition being filed by PPP Islamabad President Shakeel Abbasi on Saturday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan has announced a decision.

The petition stating that a case should be register against Cynthia as she had made baseless allegations against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

On Saturday, during hearing the defendant’s lawyers had asked the court to not file a case against Ritchie. While FIA and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had also requested the court to dismiss the petition against her, according to media reports.

As per Media reports, FIA had told the court that the agency could not lodge a case against US blogger as nor the petitioner was target victim neither guardian of the victim. Contrarily, petitioner’s counsel argued that PPP was the aggrieved party due to the nature of tweets by Ritchie.
